  • As a Fomer "Intern of W.BLACK.MUSIC.XPERIENCE" IN 1981 when I had my opputunity to interview" Marco Spoon " Your Spoon in the afternoon, for broadcasting school. working in the record library was the "Hook-Up". I was already the Music Man it just made my popularity grow more. I hate thathe they left us back in 1989. They were "THE REAL DEAL" WBMX !!!!

  • Wow my handsome brother sitting next to tom joyner. Lee Michaels winner out of 10 programmers he's still #1 of all time never has been beaten. Was program Director for WBMX .

  • bobby ojay use to dj for wbmx too.

  • Bobby representing as usual!

  • The incredible foreshadowing in Bobby O'Jay's thoughts on a black host attracting a national audience...the guy sitting to his left would go on to do just that.

Damn shame that Tom Joyner's show is off the air in Chi-town--hopefully that'll be fixed sooner than later.

  • This was back when djs ruled the radio! They played more good music instead of the same 20 songs that the Corporations want them to play. Music now is such a downer not really uplifting or even fun! Most music is about someone taking advantage of someone else. Boy do we miss Bob Wall what a great talent!!!!!!! Even Tom Joyner was great back in the day.Forgot how he looked with hair.

  • BOBBY OJAY IS STILL THE MAN!!!!!!

  • and in the car,if it's not a cd,i listen to talk radio. back in the days a dj had more lee-way to play some of the songs he wanted and still keep the rotation list covered. now a COMPUTER PICKS THE MUSIC TO BE PLAYED! :-0! and its the saaaame 20 songs ALL DAY! not to disrespect the dj's nowadays because they do the best they can-but they all have cookie-cutter personalities! the dj's back then had more style in my opinion.

  • sadly,i have to agree. back then my parents bought me one of those jvc boom boxes that had one gigantic woofer and a tweeter. it was one of those better ones because it had the nerve to have a tape counter and a high bias/metal tape switch,LOL! i would tape songs off of the radio ALL DAY and just like you,i thought i REALLY..HAD..IT..GOIN'..ON!! lol. now the newest thing on my home stereo is the radio because all i play are records tapes and cd's.

  • soln4suh, those were the days! For one of my birthdays, my aunt bought me a black, "Sanyo" radio - with TV band! I thought I was a big shot! LMAO! Back then, you didn't mind waiting all day to hear your favorite song! But, nowadays, I stay as far away from the radio as possible! :-(
