I have a 60 inch rear projection TV that needs the convergence ICs replaced. Im definatly going to pick one of these up from radio shack

The Radio Shack one I bought in 1985 still works perfect to this day and I use it a lot for service work. Had to replace tips maybe twice.

@DarkPlagueStudios Radioshack won't ship out of the US, and The Source doesn't have them. I really wish to put my hands on one of these but couldn't find one anywhere here in Canada. :/ Any idea?

How long do the tips last on these things?

Works even better with a coating of paste flux first, helps liquify the solder, especially the old 60/40 stuff. Keep an old plate or ashtray or such to the side of the iron to blow the solder out of the iron. Be wary of spatter when you do blow it clear, it freaking hurts on bare skin.
