  • Hi Davie,

Last year I was very successful with buzzers however this year I haven't had one fish on them. Can you tel me how you would fish them, the retrieve etc and how you know what buzzer to select?

    Many Thanks once again!

    Best Regards,

    ~David

  • Hi David,

If you fish them sometime in a day I'm sure the fish would be feeding on them in some form, the size and colour will come down to the hatch but I would most times fish a black version, other colours like olive and brown are very good, Materials I like are pheasant tail, peacock quill, turkey biot, hare's fur and finally just thread..

    All the best Davie

  • do you have a link to there i can the uv torch and resin you use..

  • Hi theoned200,

I have sent you a link to the bug-bond and as well the torches which are available to cure the resin, the one that I would recommend would be the pro version it works a lot better than the cheapest one..

  • Hi johnniwonton1976,

Thanks for the info, and well done...I'm sorry but I don't tye a great deal of saltwater flies or fish in the sea as we are a bit colder here and not as many species to fish for like you have...

    All the best Davie

  • @DavieMcPhail Hi Dave,

Herring aka Tommy rough (arripus georgianus), Southern sea gar fish (hyporhamphus melanochir) mainly but on a larger hook like a Gamakatsu saltwater fly ss15/t and with dumb bell eyes flat head ( Platycephalus indicus).

Do you have any recommandations for mullet (Mugil cephalus)?

    Cheers!

  • Hi johnniwonton1976,

Well done, do you mind me asking what species of fish did you catch with it...

    All the best Davie

  • I tried this fly in salt water and it works!

  • Hi Stefan (flumi7),

I'm happy that you really like the buzzer patterns, which I have tyed hundreds over the years in all sizes and colours not all work but they can be deadly when the fish are feeding on them..My best pattern is a simple pheasant tail tyed with copper wire which I have on here, the best colour is black by far, next would be natural, olive and dark green but I do have many other colours all worth trying..

    All the best Davie
