maine coons are honestly such amazing family cats! i love all cats, but maine coons are really remarkable when it comes to children. i think it's because they form stronger bonds with their owners than other breeds (they're so much like dogs!) and so they're more protective of "their" young :)

This is the reason I love Maine Coons so much. They're just gentle feline giants. Great video!!!

What a beautiful and patient cat. So loving toward the children. You certainly are blessed. Thank you for teaching the little ones to be gentle so many don't . Such angels you have (both cat and grandbabies)
Hi, thanks for watching my video. Apollo is especially loving and patient. Riley is now 2 and loves the cats so much! I bought both my cats for a cattery named
Koontahdin Cattery Apollo is in the North Shore litter and his name was Ipswich. I had purchased Jasper from her first, and wanted another one. I went with the intention of buying Beverly, but when I got these Apollo "chose" me. He kept jumping up on my lap, purring, rubbing against me. How could I pass him up?

Does Apollo have his claws ?

Of course!! Declawing a cat is cruel. I just keep them trimmed so he won't scratch the babies.

Thanks for the reply. Another question (if I may): If a cat has his claws trimmed would he still be able to climb up on furniture cabinets ?

Even though they are large, they can jump pretty high. I have a curio cabinet and one of my Maine Coons would jump from the back of the sofa to the top of the cabinet and sit up there. I couldn't believe it because it was still very high! If you train them with a spray bottle with water, you can keep them off almost anything. I don't have claw marks on my furniture, but every cat is different
