I still like Milton Friedman and he's a great teacher of classical liberal ethics, but libertarians who are really interested in economic science should go straight to Mises and Rothbard.

Rothbard and "science" in the same sentence. What a fucking joke.

He believes that the money supply should be controlled as he laid down the rules of expanding monetary policy. He wants to abolish the Federal Reserve, however, because it supplies money to support big government, which he is strongly against. This is why he says that Bernanke is looking like a good Chairman. He says this because he thinks Bernanke will not use the printing press to monetize U.S. Debt. But the Fed does nothing but buy U.S. Debt. So Bernanke is set up to fail in a flawed system.

Rothbard was an anarchist wasn't he?

What about the actual THEFT that you advocated your whole life? What about the completely immoral notion of stable prices in growing economy where the goverment with first recepients of newly printed money get ALL the additional value generated by the whole economy. What about it? I'd expect you'll say "I'm sorry, guys for causing unimaginable suffering", " I'm sorry I was so stupid that I believed in benevolence of government" is not nearly good enough for me.

    Jacobin roots of monetarism...

That was what he preached in the 1950's. This video presents his views towards the end of his life. I place more stock in the wisdom he imparted before his death.

He said, that he regretted saying that, and that he only was compromising.

This is clearly a clip from a longer interview. Where's the whole thing? I'd be highly interested in seeing the whole thing, given how Milton Friedman was known to build up his rhetoric tension over an interview. It has to be available somewhere as a whole, so where is it?

He didn't really want to end the Fed as far as I remember. He just wanted it to replace with a computer, so it doesnt play by the politicians wishes. but he was a monetarist, that means he belives the monetary supply needs to be controlled.
