Oasis of the Seas: In-Cabin TV System (Part 1 of 2)

The Oasis of the Seas features a revolutionary new interactive TV system to allow guest to easily manage all their daily activities. Each system is run by a Mac Mini located in a cabinet behind the TV. Guests are then able to control it through the use of a mini keyboard or standard remote control.

Is the mac mini accessible so you can use a dvd if you bring movies along rather than pay $12 for them?

@jlh1290 Unfortunately they have it all locked away in a part of the cabinet behind the TV that you can't get to. They run a custom appleTV like build on it so even if it was accessible I'm not sure it would have any apps to watch DVD's with.

i know this is probaly a very stupid question but i am not familiar with this ship so all the cafes and resturants and such...do u have to pay for the food?

@jackthayer No, there is a pdf document that RCCL has that lists all the prices for each meal at each venue. The Free ones are: Sorrento's, Cafe Promenade, Mondo Coffee Bar, Park Cafe, Johnny Rockets (Breakfast only), Boardwalk Donut Shop, Boardwalk Bar, Solarium Bistro (except dinner), Wipe Out Cafe, Opus Main Dinning Room, Windjammer Marketplace, Concierge Lounge (if in a suite or diamond level), Room Service (except after midnight), Vitality Cafe

@siamchief I'm not sure who did them. From what I've heard though they are an evolutionary change from the ones installed on the Solstice class of ships. Not sure if that means it may be who ever has done the old TV systems on all the other ships or a new company.
