Some video I made after the big storm on 1/29/10. I was trying out a new camera (Panasonic AG HMC40) and edited it using FCE4. This was the first time I have used FCE and I am only a very amateur cinematographer. Please be kind with any critique. Some of the transitions are too quick and lame and my shots and tripod work leave much to be desired.

  • Nice shots! Just two comments; you don't need to fade every time between shots. As a norm, I think a simple cut is the best transition (unless you want to project a passing of time or change of location). Also, the music in the background on that one clip is distracting. Perhaps using the sound from another clip would have been better. Good luck, enjoy your new camera, and thanks for posting.

  • Thank you. I appreciate the comments and advice. I have lots to learn:)

  • Peter, It was strange seeing snow in Asheville. The quality is awesome, in fact it was so good there was a streaming issue with my PC while viewing in 1080. The shots were a little jerky but I know it was on my end. Camera work was good, no complaints there. It was good to see some clips from the HMC40 since this is the camera I have decided to buy thanks to your suggestion.

  • Very good!!!
