N.C.B. Foundation Investing in Jamaica's Future
The N.C.B. Foundation has been working to 'Build a Better Jamaica' through education, entrepreneurship and community development initiatives. It is our vision to provide opportunities for meaningful change and improvement in the lives of all Jamaicans. The Foundation through the Jamaican Education Initiative (JEI) contributed over J$22 Million last year in scholarships, grants and bursaries to various primary, secondary and tertiary level students across the nation. The Foundation also believes in a holistic approach to learning and as such contributes towards the upgrading of school facilities and the provision of educational resources. To date over 300 schools have benefited from receiving computers, photo copy machines and renovation of existing facilities.
The Foundation recently made contributions of approximately $896,000 towards the improvement of the McAuley Primary School's bathroom and kitchen facilities, as well as to remedy electrical defects and construct water trenches. The School is situated on Windsor Road in the vicinity of the Spanish Town bypass located in the parish of St. Catherine which provides education for children within the surrounding communities of March Pen, Tawes Pen, Ellers Pen, "Africa" and "Capture Land" which together has a population of 30,000- 40,000 residents.
