I was at the local airport some time back waiting for my daughter to fly in. Suddenly I heard a commotion and went to see what it was. A small group of soldiers in BDUs were walking through the terminal and the people there were applauding them. Good for them, I thought, but then my next thought was: yeah, but what about the guys from my generation, the guys from Vietnam. No one ever applauded them. If they weren't ignored altogether, they were mocked and vilified. It's a god damn shame.

All medal of honor recipient should be given a pension of $1000 a week for life with benefits transferring to spouse and kids until their death. These brave men gave us their real service, and its time we pay them more than just lip service. Those who thinks this is socialism should check their politic at the door, and vote to see this happen for our brave men and women.
