Elevator Ad (Americans Fired, Foreign Workers Hired)

On February 2, 2009, NumbersUSA and the Coalition for the Future American Worker launched an ad campaign focusing on the fact that American businesses continue to import 1.5 million foreign workers each year when there are more than 11 million unemployed Americans.

This started with the Clinton administration and then-majority Republican congress - NAFTA legislation passed in the dead of night - just like they'll do with healthcare and immigration reform. Wake Up America! You are not being represented by either major party! If your "representatives" can't put their own citizen-workers first during a global economic downturn -they need to lose their own job!

Not too long ago I read an article concerning the high rate of unemployment among U.S. teenagers and now the Elitists want to give Blanket Amnesty to the ILLEGALS and leave the number of various visas such as the H-1B visa wide open. This would allow U.S. corporations to hire non U.S. Citizens to force down labor cost instead of hiring U.S. teenagers for what we use to call entry level jobs or U.S. Citizens with appropriate training and experience for the technical jobs.

Great video. Many people dont know that the (ironically named) American Competativeness in the 21st Century Act, sponsored by Kennedy and Feinstein, actually did away with the stipulation that a H1-B worker only be hired when no qualified American worker is available. It also removed the H1-B visa cap for educational and research institutions. We need affirmative action for Americans.

The employers hire them for high-paying meatpacking and construction jobs because they don't have to pay Workers' Comp, SS, or any other benefits. These jobs could be held by legal Americans. This state even participates in the Federal Immigrant Workers program, that PAYS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS a monthly (taxpayer-funded) stipend, above theirmedical, Welfare, and food stamps - and they don't have to declare any income to get it.

A foreign national who is a nurse MUST STILL PASS THEIR NURSING BOARD HERE. There are many, hard-working nurses here from other countries because there has for along time been a significant shortage of American-born nurses.

The nursing exam is given in foreign countries in spite of massive cheating scandals. You have to go to an accredited school but who knows where they went. They get hired as "bilingual" when their english is unintelligible. They speak in their language plotting to get us fired so they can bring in more of their own, who they train on the job in that language. Patients come distant second to this purpose. One million unemployed nursing license holders should = no more H1B visas.

@deejroz I disagree - the money was allocated to spend for over the next 10 yrs ... and some of the money he spent wasnt spending - he bought stake in companies - and if yoiu have been observing the news - the government is selling away its stake once the companies are above the ground - I can prove my statement and stand behind it - can you?

Every visit I have had in Mexico I saw the people living well in comparison to south America,Africa,. They want to come here make money so they can build lovely homes in mexico were they wont be taxed and can live like kings on our money. I say if you make it here you spend it here.

We don't want to be like Europe.  True Americans want nothing to do with the nanny state that is Europe. And Obama quadrupled the mess that Bush started. That was definitely NOT necessary. Obama spent more of OUR money in his first two months in office than Bush spent during his entire second term!
