Welcome to the BGSU Philosophy Department!

The Department of Philosophy is an internationally recognized community of scholars and students, known widely for its specialization in, and contributions to, moral philosophy, broadly construed, which includes metaethics, normative ethics, applied ethics, political philosophy and aesthetics. Undergraduate students may earn a B.A. in philosophy, and graduate students may earn a Masters or Ph.D. in the Department's applied philosophy program. The Department is committed to providing the highest quality of education for students as well as to increasing the body of philosophical knowledge.

  • Plato was a bore-Nietzsche

  • Well the soul is omnicient to an extent but only God can be called truly onniscient and unlimited.Not well informed about cynicism,I try to stay away from schools that tend to bore people to death,would rather watch porn than debate on such trivial matters

  • @countgreg95 if by cynical,you mean neitzsche's byronic,malevolent universe,then no,that's not the case

  • @wrdeboise Have you ever considering a cynical view of the human? That we are not omniscient, and restricted?

  • Do you think Socrates really just wanted to make people feel stupid?

  • It's nice to have these 'burning questions'. However, I just like to make people feel stupid by asking simple questions (i.e. Socrates).
