This is the BEST! I am going to use it Monday morning with my junior high kids. I only had packs of white socks though :( but maybe we can figure out some ways to add color. Any suggestions?

@thepowerofstillpoint Dying is always an option, but that can take a bit of time. I would say fabric markers would give your students a chance to make their own designs!

@jchrdir glad you enjoyed it! fabric glue works very well as an alternative to hot glue. when you make the mouth, use clothes pins to hold the fabric against the cardboard until the glue dries. Drying will take a bit longer and you'll have to wait to play with your sock puppet to prevent it from falling apart. I'm sure you can design a process that helps the kids wait. Maybe "display" them as they dry. Or give a pre-game challenge; "draw a pic of your sock for its work ID badge". Have fun!

@Nichrida the accessories are from Michaels Craft store. American Girl makes lots of cute accessories (presumably designed for their dolls, but re-purposed for our socks!) ;)
@tykecraft this sock is from Century 21 department store. they carry lots of amazing colors in the mens section.
