Thank you for your service Marinegus. I have utmost respect for every soldier and veteran, I'm not making a political statement about war. Being a daughter of a disabled Vietnam Veteran, I wrote this poem to help spread awareness of the plight of veterans & their families in dealing with war related injuries after they come home, so that people may advocate to improve care for veterans and children of fallen soldiers. soldiers who fought for this countries freedoms deserve the best care.

How many Iraqis have gained an education? How many Iraqis voted for their leaders and saw a fair result? How many Iraqis felt they had an impact on their nations future? How many Iraqis lived without fear of torture from a vicious dictator?

How many of those Iraqis would have these opportunities without the effort of America and it's allies?

How many times did Iraqis shake my hand and thank me for my efforts while I served inside the borders of this beautiful and sovereign nation?
