This is where the Severn Bore starts. The river severn here is extremely wide, and is just sandbanks at this stage. However you can see how much water comes across the sand, and as soon as it starts funnelling up where the river gets narrower its easy to see how a big wave is formed. • Nice one, where was this filmed? Do you know whether anyone has tryed to surf it this far down the river? Cheers.

  • This was filmed at Hock Cliff. It's quite good because it's the first big corner the bore has to face. I've not seen anyone surfing it this far down though, they tend to start on the other side of the horse-shoe bend where it's narrower. (Have a look at an OS map and you'll see where Hock Cliff is, and you'll see what I mean) Thanks, Iain

  • IF your question was...............: "Is it something to do with the moon? Because I was surfing on that.".....(Didn't really need the "because" in that sentence)........Yes is the answer. The gravitational pull of the moon changes at particular times of the year. Google it for a better definition. If English isn't your first language good try....If it is though, were you the divy kid...!

  • Great ...That looks like what I should of caught on camera one evening last week unfortunetly I failed,Well it was dark !!.
