  • Princess Margaret was an elegant lady, she was my favorite royal simply cause she wasn't the queen.

  • she lived her life with zeal!!

  • O O, I am sorry. People make mistakes.

  • she has that queen of hollywood aura about her. look at that profile. she could've been a moviestar...she reminds of ava gardner

  • By God, but she was a stunner.

posh birds; the only ay to go!

  • The movie "The Queen" was solely based on the death of princess diana and the queen... not princess margaret...

  • There have been a lot of movies based on the modern Royal Family. They're all pretty awful made-for-TV dramas so you're better off watching a documentary about them. There have been some excellent docs made which are way more informative...and accurate!

There have been a couple really good movies made about their recent Windsor ancestors though. The Madness of King George (based on George III) and The Lost Prince (based on Prince John, George V's son) are both worth watching.

  • I did see The Queen. i wasn't going to watch it because I thought it was a really disrespectful and tasteless thing to make a movie about, but my friend had the DVD and curiosity got the better of me. It usually does. ^_^

Subject matter aside I didn't think it was that great a movie, although I thought the occasional shots of Diana was original and effective.

It wasn't a big surprise that the movie had a lot about Diana...it was based around the aftermath of her death after all! ^_^

  • The queen was busy with her own duties, which kept her from even her children, so she couldn't give Margaret as much time after she was crowned. The queen also sided with her mother and the government that it would be impossible for Margaret to marry Captain Townsend-who was divorced-and keep her title. So there was love, but resentment too.

I think Margaret is fascinating. It's annoying that so many biographers just brush her off as the original Palace playgirl when there is more to her.

  • They remained close until Margaret's death although I think it's true that there were times when their relationship was strained. Margaret had a very hard time dealing with her father's death and I'm not sure if she ever really recovered from it.

She was talented, smart and beautiful but was jealous of her older sister's life...being the important one and having fallen in love and started a happy family while Margaret herself had a hard time settling down and a miserable marriage.
