Here you can see an 8mm mokumé gané style band being created from silver strip and mokumé patterned sheet. Mokumé Gané is a Japanese term which means "wood eye metal". It is created by layering alternating sheets of different alloy metals which all contain copper. High temperatures meld the many sheets together which are then milled and patterned. Here Andros is seen carefully adhearing the milled strip to a sterling band. When the process is complete; there should be a complete marriage of metals between the silver and mokumé strip.

  • @dax3555 Thank you so much! Very kind of you to say!

  • Thank you for the video! by the way what is your background music?

  • My pleasure syseric! The flamenco guitar is Vicente Amigo... He plays beautifully.

  • very nice! how are you holding the ring in the lathe chuck? i'm guessing there is some sort of mandrel in the chuck?

  • Hi Firefly804,

Thanks so much! The chuck is a common metal lathe chuck with 3 jaws... The jaws can either be used to "grasp" something within them, or they can be expanded within something circular to hold it. I'm using the later method of expanding the jaws within the ring. It's perfectly suited for working on rings. Thanks for your question and nice comment! Andros

  • I found this video through your site on Etsy. I'm very impressed. It's difficult to find someone that takes pride in their work. Now I'm hoping to convince my fiance to order our wedding bands from you =)

  • Beautiful music and wonderful video, I am def going to order something from you for my husband.

  • Good job on the video Andros... I'm blessed to be married to someone so talented... the end result speaks for itself... quality and attention to detail are of the most superior quality.
