This is a total conversion mod of the unreal tournament engine i made turning an engine that is traditionally for FPS into a 3D adventure game.

I'm not personally a fan of the famous five but it made for an interesting project that I had to work hard at to hide the underlying engines main purpose.

I will hopefully be uploading this soon for download as soon as I can find a reliable host.

  • It's certainly a very robust engine and it already has built in support for inventories and other such things that could be adapted should the need arise.

However please note that this game has been made on top of the unreal tournament 2004 game as well as the base engine.

If you wanted to make a game in the raw unreal engine i'm not as sure how helpful the engine will be as opposed to the tools for modding the unreal tournament game itself.

    Good luck with your game!

  • Thanks, it wasn't to criticise or anything. I was just wondering if Unreal was worth putting effort into making an adventure game.

  • I made everything in the game aside from the two character models. This game was a uni project and I believe the guys from the modelling course made them along with the animations. I can't think of a climbing animation existing in unreal however if it's not there already I should think it's relatively easy to add in Uscript. It would just be a case of making new events and animations.

  • Personally, I find this pretty original. And it's a fun idea for a nonviolent multiplayer. I have a question though, are the walk cycle frames really limited? Or is it just that you didn't spend much time on them? I noticed you have no climbing animations as well. Is this something tthat can be fixed or it a limitation of Unreal?
