Opening titles to the wrought psychological thriller Hard Candy (2005) starring Patrick Wilson and a pre-Oscar nominated Ellen Page, in which the relationship between a photographer and a teenage girl grows increasingly sinister. The animation appears to symbolise movement through a floor plan. Two noteworthy points : this is one of the few films to give a main credit to the digial grader; and this sequence arguably features the most prominent use of music in a relatively short score. I want to learn to play this on the piano so badly! This is the best movie every, by the way, so I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys psychological thriller-types. If anyone has learned to play this by ear (something which I can't do...) or has sheet music, please let me know. Thanks for the upload! Awesome!
It's part of the score. I don't think it was released simply because a very conscious decision was made not to have the film saturated in music, so there's very little of it.
The credits here include a Molly Nyman who surely must be related to famous composer Michael Nyman, whose classical score for Gattaca (1997) is simply beautiful. I compel anyone to go find that that soundtrack.
It's a real divider too. A film enthusiast friend of mine just couldn't stand it. Thought both characters were just horrible. (I actually like films where everyone's horrible to each other!)
