Valve Pre-Adjustment on Chevy Small Block

Bi-weekly "How to" #19. How to set the valves after the engine has been disassembled.
At TDC on #6 firing position, adjust the following valves:
Exhaust - 2,5,6,7
Intake - 3,4,6,8
Turn the crank one revolution. The cam timing mark and crank mark will both be on top of the gear. This is TDC #1 firing position. Adjust the following valves.
Exhaust - 1,3,4,8
Intake - 1,2,5,7

@jjrock5 I just wanted to note, that I do not recommend this method on a new cam installation. I also recommend doing a final setting with the engine running. I briefly mention it in the video. I am putting a notice at the start of this video to explain just that. Thanks for this comment, it made me review this video and make it better.

@bigpaw64 It is good to wrench on one again. Still working on the engine. I'm transplanting a complete wire harness from another truck from front to back. I'll post some of that soon as it's running.
