  • I don't know which one of this two to buy, btw which when sounds better and is the SD-1 the only one with asymmetrical clipping or does the DS-1 has it too?

  • @dieandgoaway I'm not sure about the ds-1. I know the ds-1 is asymetrical clipping.

It depends on how you use it. If you have a tube amp that you can turn up and you want to get some more crunch for solos and stuff I would say ds-1. For a smoother pedal thats good a lower volumes I would say sd-1.

  • @coronet67 I meant the SD-1 is asymetrical clipping

  • Does compressor erases noise?

  • @jeeiioo No, it can make noise louder with heavy compression. Lower settings you don't hear much difference, but it doesnt erase noise. The best way to handle noise (hiss, hum etc) is to figure out what is causing it. Second best is a noise suppressor like the Rocktron Hush

  • what does the compression sustainer do ?

  • @rrgert4 It sort of squashes the sound. If used sparingly it can smooth it out and make it ring longer. Heavy use it can give you a funky tone. Theres videos explaining it better than I can. Used before a distortion or overdrive it just makes it sound more creamy and tubelike IMO. Used on a clean tone it just makes it more even and chimey depending on the settings.

  • @ShivaTheAuspicious You can compare any two things. You can compare a rock and a stick. To compare is to examine two or more things in order to determine similarities and differences.

  • i found the sd-1 more versatile than the ds1, it's just too spiky

  • nice clean sound , full of smooth midz. pedal takes it to the next level. just got the same frm a friend, luv it

  • @ComedyActionGuys SD-1 sounds good with Squier strats and vintage Gibson SGs too. In my experience with it, it is a good inexpensive pedal and if u set your amp and pedal right, it sounds best. There are better overdrives, but the $60 SD-1 is working pretty well for me.

  • ds-1 fo da win

  • I have both pedals, but I play mostly metal and hardrock, so I use my DS-1 more, but I use my SD-1 more than my ML-2 "([metal core] I know I play metal but the ml-2 is mainly for Nu-Metal, but I use the DS-1 the most because it is great for any genre of rock)

  • Im using the BOSS metal zone, but i'm a bit off from metal these days, and play more rock/grungy stuff. Now to my ears, the DS1 sounds very similar to the metal zone only a little weaker with the Gain. i might be wrong with this statement, anyone here who has both pedals and can tell me whether the sound of the DS1 is similar sounding to the metal zone? the type of fuzziness?

  • Does it give as good sound on Squier Fender?

  • 9 people likes guns n roses

  • great demo man! sd-1 sounds like a real amp!!! and ds-1 is cool as well! actually even after using marshall shredmaster i still get back to ds-1 distortion coz it sounds like an amp as well!!!!
