YNN Rochester provides a progress report on the strategic alliance formed in 2008 between Rochester Institute of Technology and Rochester General Health System.
A local college and a hospital are celebrating a year together. RIT and Rochester General Hospital plan to grow that partnership into something much bigger.
The union began a year ago -- combining medicine and technology. The school and hospital work together in areas including biomedical research, telemedicine and robotics.
What we've accomplished in twelve short months is representative of the potential and promise that's available, that's in front of us -- as a result of this alliance, said Mark Clement, president and CEO of RGH.
RIT and RGH also announced a strategic planning effort, to look at growth possibilities over the next five years. A report on that effort should be complete before the end of 2010.
It's really interesting and it's a lot of people helping to develop these projects. For example, we can see two streams from Colombia's
Access Grid node in COLIVRI Laboratory at the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia). Good work !!
