Interesting to see that all the power is derived from the 3rd rail (there is no 4th centre rail). This means that the whole 630V potential to ground is contained therein. Thus you'd have much less chance surviving if you happen to touch the live rail on IoW than you would in London.

That is problem the train seat front of carriage of the seat has bend of broken. Shouldn't updated testing train yet.

I always wondered why the 1983 tube stock was entirely scrapped, instead of saving a few and using them to replace the 1938 stock on this line.

I miss then on the LUL, nice to see the musuem has a running 4 car unit. Should get it out more often though

i've always wondered how they haven't upgraded the trains to something like 455s or 158/9s...

@MegaL14M, the reason they have not done this is because of the tunnel between Ryde Epslanade and St John's Road is no high enough, the trackbed in Ryde Tunnel was raised in 1967 to reduce flooding and decrease gradients.

how frequently do these trains run?

There are 2 trains an hour, but due to parts of the route being single line they run with a gap of 41 minutes then 19 minutes throught the day, i have herd that they are meant to be putting another passing loop back in which would allow an 30 minutes service.
