Part 1 of 3.
The very first of their reunion shows. Recorded on Samhain (11/01) 1999.
In '99 Samhain (Danzig's second band, originally active from '84 to '87) reunited for one tour as an opening band for the Danzig shows, to promote the release of the Samhain Box Set.
Sadly Eerie Von was not part of the reunion, although he was the only bass player for the band during the 80's.
Instead Steve Zing and London May (both drummers for Samhain in the 80's) played bass during the reunion shows, they switched instruments (Bass/Drums) in the middle of the set. Todd Youth, the guitarist, was never part of Samhain, but since no original guitar-player was available (Damien was touring with Iggy Pop), they took him, 'cause he was the Danzig-guitarist at the time.
Samhain only played during that Danzig tour and has never played since, Glenn sneaks some Samhain tunes into the Danzig set from time to time, though.
The video was not filmed by me and the audio seems a little out of sync, sorry for that.
Songs:
1. Intro (Initium)
2. Samhain
3. Black Dream
4. All Murder, All Guts, All Fun
5. He-Who-Cannot-Be-Named
6. Unholy Passion & To Walk The Night (both cut)

  • Thanks, I actually meant the Danzig set that followed Samhain at the Paladium

the same nite. Samhain sounded great, but when Danzig came back out the sound was so bad that my friend and I left after about 4-5 songs. I dunno, it's possible that our ears were blown out by that point. I've seen Danzig about a half dozen times before... always sounded great. Weird. Will definitely check out the AZ show you mentioned. Thanks again.

  • @April830am Yeah, it is said show. There's a bit of confusion where it was played though, that's why his uploads are labled different.

  • Cool!!! I remember picking up a LA Weekly on the way to work, and finding a full page ad for this show... I SHIT first, then bought tickets. It was great!!! Really cool to finally see/hear a full Samhain set. Anybody have footage of the Danzig show that followed?

  • @April830am JasonTankerley got the entire Danzig show on his channel, check it out!

  • I don't think Eerie Von was the only bassist for Samhain. I think he was originally the drummer while Brian Baker and Al Pike played bass before Eerie switched over.

  • That was only rehearsal stadium. Back when Samhain was still a kind of "Hardcore-Supergroup".

  • @ravner1976 Danzig and Eerie are mutually opposed to working with each other. It's not beef, they just don't want to anymore. At least that's what I've always heard.

  • Samhain never played live w/ Brian Baker , & Lyle Presslar was also in Samhain but he only played one show.

  • amazing show... i was 13 at this show and since it was a monday,a school night i had to sleep at my sisters house to sneak to the show!

  • In a split second Glenn's shirt comes off and human blood splats on his head. Thats a true god.

  • how... or why.. or how... could Danzig have a Samhain reunion without Eerie?!WTF!!!!!!!! and dont gimmie that wikipedia excuse... What the fuck could keep Eerie out?

  • dude... Thank you so much for posting. I was at this concert, almost right in front of the camera. It brings back so many memories of murder, guts and fun!
