@ianrkav Yup! You are correct! Some models have the PIC in the left seat which doesn't make any sense to me, I've only flown Robinsons which have the PIC in the right seat

@22640cal Aaah that would have to be why! That makes sense, thanks:-) I take it the collective and twist throttle usually stay where you leave them, ie, they don't spring back.

@ianrkav Most of it has to do with weight and balance, it depends on who built the helicopter. In my opinion it is easier for the PIC in a helicopter to sit in the right seat, his right hand always has to be on the cyclic leaving his left hand free to change the radios and stuff like that, so it would make sense to sit in the right seat, instead of sitting in the left seat and having to reach over.

Why do pilot's in command of helicopters sit on the right and pilots in command of fixed wing sit on the left? Anyone?
