In 1948, Marie Knight met Sister Rosetta Tharpe, bringing to the duo her compelling contralto vocals and elegant stage charm. They became gospel's top team, recording for Decca the hits "Didn't It Rain," "Up Above My Head," and "Beams of Heaven."
This performance was live at the Sister Rosetta Tharpe Benefit Concert in Glenside, PA.
The performance took place at the Keswick Theatre on Friday, January 11, 2008.

Wow, I remember posting this concert on my website. And I am glad to see a posting of the video from this concert. What a honor to see living legends like Marie Knight (whom dueted with Tharpe back in the day) and Willa Ward be represented like that. Thanks Josh for posting and informing a generation. I see you know your stuff too. Wonderful indeed.
