Dr. Ash Shops for himself and picks up some cashews, coconut flakes, and whole, organic coconuts.
All these things make your body more alkaline, so when you eat 80% of the foods that make your body more alkaline, you've got a chance at a great diet. Still, you could eat 20% acidic, but most people are eating so much sugar and carbohydrate heavy food, that they're eating 80% acidic and 20% alkaline. Proteins, sugars, carbs ... it's most of the American diet. If you just switch it around and eat 80% alkaline and 20% acidic, at least you're not going to put things in that are going to over-acidify your body.
As you over-acidify your body, you lose calcium, you lose magnesium ... you trigger autoimmune disease and a whole bunch of other downstream consequences. So you'll need supplementation; you can't just do it with the foods, but that's a start. Using the right nutrients and supplementation that are alkaline-forming is important. Most vitamins are acidic-forming, or they don't take into account the ability to make your body more alkaline like the Pure Essentials brand can.
Sweetness Substitutes?
I think that if you use the whole gamut of low-glycemic index foods (watermelon, strawberries, blueberries - the whole fruit rather than just the juices), and surely you can juice with a lot of the green juices that are alkaline forming, too, but if you manage your logistics and have this done so you can have it available to you wherever you are, it gives you a better shot to be compliant.

Hi, Dr, Ash, I use in Stevia glycerite. I haven't been able to find if glycerin is alkaline or acid forming. I know that stevia is alkaline forming.

I'm just starting to research this acid & alkaline deal. My teeth have been excruciatingly painful for the past two days. I am more of a natural remedy person, only using Dr.s sparingly. I have no idea where to start tho. I have read online that your teeth show the health of your body inside. EEK! So I need advice. I know teeth can heal themselves just as much as your body. This isn't going to be temporary, I know those fixes don't work. I'm looking where to start a new life&way of living.
