Cinnamon contains compounds that have a positive effect on blood sugar and lipds, which makes it a great food for people with diabetics or high cholesterol. Dr. Whitaker explains how much cinnamon you need for optimum benefit.
Actually I started this a few days ago - I was on a diet program that I couldn't have "no sugar" due to blood sugar fluctuation - well I can now have a small amount of cooked fruits with cinnamon! I also found out that it contains a fragrant compound called "eugenol" (effective in relieving tooth pain and infection) - though I don't know cinnamon will be as effective as cloves.
