Probablemente sea por que asi lo escribieron en el guion jajajaj...No lo que pasa es que Varia esta super entrenada por Ares y luego la pobre de la Gabrielle tanto tiempo congeleda pues se le atrofiaron los musculos supongo jajaja....pobrecita, hay esta escena como me jode a mi la Varia que asco de mujer..pero en fin, asi estuvo y asi nos toco sufrilo jajajaja un saludoooooooo

@liltrick08.. I completely agree, I wish that it was Eve fighting Varia instead of Xena. I never understood why noone ever told Eve that she was an Amazon.

@liltrick08 I resepectfully disagree it's not the moves that kill people its the intentions, look at gabrielle she has always had a sense of right and wrong, a good sense of morality. I believe that she should have won this fight simple as that lol

@maxstrife gabby is a bad ass but there is a big reason y xena never taught her everything she knew and dats bcuz even tho by now gabby was a warrior xena didnt want her fighting she didnt even want gabby to fight varia so if xena would have taught gabby all that she has learned ovr the yrs plus wat ares would have taught her she would b more of a killer than the sweet girl she once was and xena didnt want her to go thru that

@abbaspice1 but the only thing was is gabby didnt have the main technique that varia did varia was an amazon so she was trained from a very early age gabby was trained by xena but with weapons that was gabbys first fight without weapons gabby is not a fist fighter she is a weapon fighter i always wanted to end up seein a fight between eve and varia lol

If I remember the fight CORRECTLY, Gabrielle was kicking Varia's TAIL, until Gabrielle TRIED to talk to Varia. She didn't really want to fight Varia. She tried to reason to Varia, which led to Varia maintaining her focus, and winning.

@spuffygurl4eva.. in the beginning, she really only used the sais for blocking. It seem like most of her techniques with it could be used with escrima sticks. So, if thats the case its not far fetched that she could used them seeing that the only weapon she really used before was a staff. But then again, what other weapons did Xena actually trainined her in? If you remember, she said that she wanted to know everything that Xena knew and Xena promised to teach her.

@spuffygurl4eva.. I agree with the lack of strategy part. I think that we sometimes if not often forget is that Gabby isnt a warrior. She was pushed into the role, either by Xena being tired of having to save her ass.lol or simply giving in and teaching her how to defend herself. The assumption would be that she (at the time she started using the sais.lol) had enough training to kind of know the jist of how wield them. If you were to look back she really didnt do much with them other than block

@maxstrife..lol is see that you are Team Gabby.lol You also have to remember that Varia had been training with Ares. Even though it doesn't say how long she was training with him, its obviously that she is a pretty good fighter naturally. She has an agressiveness that Gabby only acquires in times of need. I would agree with you that Gabby's skills should have been a little more polished than what she showed. I also think that that Eve and Varia should have fought instead.
