A very ancient religious function dedicated to the bishop Paolino and its origine go back to the V century a. c.....The people of modern day ,remain devoted to st. Paulinus. His feast day is celebrated annually in Nola (near Naples in Italy)and the surrounding regions during la FESTA DEI GIGLI (the feast of the lilies), in which Gigli, several large stautes in honor of the saint, are carried around the alleys of city,over towers of 30 meters transported to shoulders . In the United States, the descendants of immigrants from Nola continue the tradition in Brooklyn, Harlem and on Long Island.
