75kg clean and five reps front squat, at a body weight of 67kg. OK, I know I'm not Pyrros Dimas, but I only started strength training from scratch 2yrs ago. Comments on form/technique welcome. I know I lean forward a bit as I get tired.

  • Thanks, I'll give them a go. I do dead lifts fairly regularly, and rack pulls seem pretty similar. Overhead squats I've tried occasionally but they're just so difficult... maybe I'll try them again.

  • Pretty good, dude! For'ard lean is normal toward the end of a set on this movement. That's why you are supposed to keep the reps low...like 5 or 6 utmost. Work on statically strengthening the upper back and you can handle heavier iron on the front squat.

  • Thanks! What do you mean by statically strengthening the upper back? What sort of exercises can I do for that?

  • lol at the description

  • Static: My interpretation is that the scapulae remain in a locked position (more or less, motionless).

Rack Pulls and Overhead Squats come to mind right away.

  • looks really good for barefoot squats! Keep it up!
