Any team, low or high team rating, can freebooter a star player for a game. It's just easier for a lower rated team to spend the inducements they get to level the playing field on a freebooted player than for a higher rating team to spend from their treasury to do it. However on tabletop, my orc squad made it to the final of the league i was playing in and, as it was the last match of the season, blew the treasury on freebooting Morg for the final.
I miss having them as part of the team...i mean it would seem silly that a highflying team could not draw a star player in but a low level team can get one when ever they want due to the cash they get right before the game....It seems silly to me.
Maybe as wel as star player you could get players who already have skills and +1 points...not as many or as good as a star player but it would be a start.
Griff Oberwald, or Übervåld as I called him (våld is swedish for violence), is an awesome player. :D
He is on my oldest. and best, human team. That team has got: Griff, Morgh, Mighty Zug and Count Luthor. >:D
Griff was my ballhunter. Get in, blitz, steal the ball, and get out. :D
This was of course during the time when you could actually have star players as permanent parts of your team. The prices for them was half (I belive) of what you see in this version of the game.
