Carlos Cano tuvo una gran relación con América. Gran humanista, estaba interesado en todo lo que concernía a la cultura latinoamericana.
Fue en 1992, 500 años después del hermoso hallazgo, cuando publicó su disco mestizo, llenito de ritmos latinoamericanos. Habaneras, cueca y ritmos calientes. Un gran disco que merece la pena oír.
