  • i live down the street from where they were filming! alot of my friends and family are exras in the movie. it was awesome havin everybody here.

  • If 'The Help' had a $17 million dollar impact on Greenwood, how come Baptist Town is still in shambles?

  • it's REALLY pretty there!!

  • @rufuspaigel considering the pie was made of shit - looooooooooooooooooooool

  • I grew up in Greenwood and found the movie fascinating, especially since my neighbor was the one who eventually was charged and found guilty of murdering Medgar Evers.

  • At first I thought the movie would take black people down a road they didn't want to revisit. I was wrong and pleasantly surprise. The cast was great and I believe Oscars will be awarded. My favorite was Octavia and that pie. Giving a pie to a white women back then took a lot of guts and unbelievable courage. The movie was great.

  • Ahh they started shooting this movie on my birthday!!

  • just found out my grandmother house was the main house in the help

  • I loved the movie I used to live in Indianola, MS and went to church and sang in the choir at First Pres My great grandfather was a a minister there in the 1800s.. . I stayed 'til the end of the movie to see where it was filmed. It looked familiar. i loved eating at the Crystal Grill. I wonder if anyone I knew was an extra.

  • @Applebaum To an extent, this is definitely true. To an extent, I'm proud to be born in Greenwood, but to me, if I had been an extra in the film, the people would have treated me like I was a bottle of moonshine at a champagne party.
