This is one of my favorite songs, from the show "Falsettos" written by William Finn. Piano by Barry Lloyd. Sung at a San Francisco Benefit Concert 3 weeks before I moved to NYC. October 25, 2005

  • a very technically challenging song to sing indeed. and this, my friend, is as good a version as i've heard. i've been searching a long time for an interpretation like this. many thanks.

  • Wow. That is an incredible compliment. Thank you so much. A great way to start my day.

  • You have great presence. All I could see was shoulders and up and I knew your version was one I wanted to listen to. You have a very light but powerful voice. I liked that you didn't try to oversing it and you kept your arms down--to me that shows a willingness to be vulnerable which is so key to this song. I sing with the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus and we'll be performing this piece at our next concert. I will keep your rendition in mind when I'm preparing. =>

  • Thank you so very much. That is very sweet. I grew up in Minnesota. Love it there, though I haven't been back in a while. Have a great concert.

  • Wow....just lovely...you have a beautiful voice!!

  • Thank you so much...you are very kind.

  • it's rare to be so moved by something you see on youtube. thank you for sharing that. it's truly very beautiful.

  • Different and nice. Very dramatic. It makes me think of several things....I just played Marvin in FALSETTOS and boy is it hard to do this song justice singing it two hours into the show, sitting on a sofa with a man laying on your chest. I'm envious! lol But I also often cried for real singing most of the ballads. Thx K.

  • ps...British humour!

  • BEAUTIFUL! And you're not so bad either.

  • Absolutely gorgeous!

  • I AM AN INSTANT FAN and as a singer myself, not many men give me goosebumps..many singers get lost in the sentiment of these lyrics and the singer may as well be a violin in the distance. This is a man singing about his love for another man and I am conVINCED! BRAVO!!!

  • kevin - long time finn fan here - saw original production, etc. anyway - was just listening to diff singers try to sing what more can i say - and found myself clicking off with each one - until you - you made my day - what more can i say?
