Casting directors must be esp DUMB in US b/c TS is the PERFECT leading man: full head of hair, great smile, sparkly eyes, commanding walk/voice, etc. Too bad they don't notice all this, PLUS he's a great actor!
God I like this piece!! I always wonder what rehearsal is like. In this piece like everyone is so involved and freely and fairly to share ideas and express feelings. Love toby's smile and talking in this one. It casts what he is like in ordinary life which is not less charming than when he is on the screen even when as a villain.
not gonna happen. Hasn't got the looks for leading man. Not 'all-american' enough. Looks too European, too aristocratic. That doesn't go down well with Producers. good for villains though!
Seems we have a lot of leading men that are less handsome than Toby. And some Brits who aren't as handsome have made a success in our films, as well. So I still dont' get it. Maybe Jane Eyre will change that. As for his coloring, doesn't seem so different from the young Robt. Redford.
oh he's PLENTY good looking enough. But they're not appealing good looks. they're slightly cool, and not warm. Redford looks like the boy next door. Stephens looks like the son of the richest man in the state.
I agree. Who's the instructor? Cicely Berry? Patsy Rhodenburg? What's the name of this video series? Where can I get it? How can I see it in its entirety?

If you have the PBS channel, this spring they are playing "Sharpe's Challenge" which stars TS! :)
