  • I remember when this came out. I think it was the first song Nina wrote. It's good to hear it made relevant again by Carole Alston.

  • I thought it was the last thing Nina did in US. After writing this song she left and never retourned. I'm not shure if it's true, just heared it that way.

  • If anybody doesn't like this, they should be shot!

  • @cammicty I hope that you do write a book. Do it before they all die off please.

  • NINA SIMONE

  • It's sad how this has to even be explained! Nina just sang the song! Mississippi, my families roots! My family was owned by some of the worst slave owners, it was horrible, I really should write a book. All the stories I've been told by Grandparents, and even experienced. It's riveting! Nothing has changed much in the minds of many White Mississippians! It was not that long ago! People are actually so bamboozled, to think the mentality has changed! Carole did a great job!

  • No. This was an early song, and she concertized in the US for decades after. I saw her many times in NY and Philly.

  • A real nice tribute to Nina, keeping her memory and ideals alive. Props to Carole Alston for putting this show on and breathing life into Nina Simone's music...and words. Is it still relevant? Hell, yeah! Even with Obama? If you have to ask, you aren't paying attention.
