Cinuçen Tanrıkorur's Lecture-Demonstration on "TAKSIM (Improvisation) in Turkish Music"
at The New England Conservatory, Boston, Mass. USA in 1994.

[English was Tanrıkorur's fifth language which he said he learnt by watching cowboy movies when he was a high school student. He spoke Turkish, Italian and French very fluently as he attended the Italian School in Istanbul and his teachers were all native speakers.]

Cinuçen Tanrıkorur here discussess TAKSIM (improvisation) practice in Turkish music and invites his ensemble to perform taksims, starting with FAHRETTİN ÇİMENLİ making a taksim in the makam Hijaz on the bowed TANBUR.
