How Lightbulbs and Fuses Work

The demonstrations in this video should not be attempted as it is very possible to get burnt or shocked, even though it was just 12 volts ( from harbor freight 55 amp engine starter), caution should be used with anything electrical.... This is a VERY ROUGH example of how lightbulbs and fuses work, this demonstrates the basic principles and theory behind lightbulbs and fuses. also note, in real life fuses don't glow red like the wire on the left side did, just happened to in this case do to high current draw of the coil. The reason light bulbs are encased in glass is because the metal wire in the filament will actually begin to burn the wire gets so hot, the filament is in a vacume so there is no oxygen or other gases that would allow the metal wire to burn.
