  • This gave me goose bumbs all over again! Love this! Downloaded it to!

  • @rustynalez Okay calm down there; I didn't mean to make you angry. If Ruby Jane is truly uninterested and finds no love in other instruments whatsoever then so be it. It's like me quitting guitar b/c it was an instrument that only depressed me.

If it would be a huge sacrifice, then yes don't do it but variety is still important. I have explored variety. I play bassoon, viola, flute, ukulele, and piano.

"... at all was stupid & better left unsaid" <-- this is only true for your negativity.

  • @CatFlashBlue Maybe somewhat of a misunderstanding, along with a lack of you making your point very well. Bottom line is, A true artist expresses themselves in their own way and doesn't give a damn what someone else thinks or, in your case, "NEEDS". Variety is great, it's up to the individual. Why don't YOU go explore some variety Yourself. The fact that you made those comments at all, was stupid and better left unsaid. I look forward to YOUR next bluegrass vid, rockin a clarinet. Thanks Buddy.

  • @rustynalez It's not about quitting their instruments, of course not. It's about exploring other instruments. There is a huge variety of instruments and we should build up the less common ones to make the variety stronger. I'm not asking anyone to sacrifice anything. I'm asking everyone to take a greater interest in musical variety, whatever that means for them. You greatly misunderstood what I intended.

  • @CatFlashBlue Maybe she doesn't have a passion for those instruments. I'm sure she'll play whatever music that touches her soul. You made a rather idiotic statement there... Do we need what? It's not about what WE NEED. An artist plays what THEY like, not for others or because it's popular. There's always great music to be played and enjoyed, regardless of the instrument or genre. She's amazing, leave it at that. My son's a Drummer, should he quit because we have too many already? Assinine!

  • That was so sweet, Ruby Jane! Just amazingly sweet!

  • You sing beautifully. You have a fan in Chile.

  • @hill2mason She did do a show with Big & Rich in 2007, age 12 (I believe she played the fiddle, don't think she sang), not long before she moved to Austin from Mississippi. She started taking classical violin lessons at age 2, started playing country/bluegrass and performing shows at age 8, performed on the Grand Ole Opry at age 9.
