Lloyd Bridges and Arlene Francis star in this classic tale of a con man attempting to trick a lady of means into marrying him. Bridges turns out to be quite an inept con man and his grisly past soon catches up with him. Arlene Francis is superb as the naive bride to be.

This episode of Suspense is complete with Auto-Lite commercials.

  • Great Stuff. Enjoy this more than what is on TV today. The organ is cheezy but adds to the vintage black and white atmosphere of days gone by. Why bother with TV when one can watch some very entertaining stories with out the sex and special effects.

  • @drumsonly2002 Thank you. That organ music is often a giveaway for a low budget production. What is interesting is just how much was accomplished in the era of classic television with low budgets, no flashy special effects, no explicit sexual content or gory violence. In other words, I agree with you :) A little imagination goes a long way. Thank you for watching and commenting. -Michael

  • WOW! GREAT ending! Do you happen to know what year these were made??

  • As far as I can determine the original air date for this episode was August 19th, 1952. Before I was born. How about that?

  • Powerful stuff, even amid the overwrought organ music and claustrophobic sets. Arlene Francis is just wonderful, and it's gripping to see her as a lady in peril, as opposed to her soignee, What's My Line persona. Thanks for posting this gem.

  • You're welcome. She is a most urbane lady on What's My Line and a pleasure to watch. That organ music...

  • Thanks for posting this, it really is a great to see Arlene Francis more than just on the panel on WML, even though I think that 'role' fits her better.
