ATTN: A "FF9:MOL" RE-MASTERED [3] VERSION IS ALSO AVAILABLE! PLEASE VIEW/RATE+ IT LOCATED IN MY PROFILE... THANKS!
As I was re-listening again and again to the Final Fantasy IX PC "MOL" I became rather bored in trying to perfect every nook and cranny of the whole damn piece. Then this thought came to me... Yes my practicing did cure my note problems, my rhythm problems, but it didn't cure my touch problems.
I tried to play the piece EXACTLY as it sounds... which I found to be overwhelming and impossible. Then when I just decided to play the piece "In my own interpretation" I realized perhaps my interpretation isn't that bad. As you know I am not a guy about originality, yes I copy, I do a very good job at copying, but sometimes this habit gets dull. Well I won't consider this exactly "original," as I am still playing an arrangement other then my own. But maybe I was being creative.
Further on:
Basically for this exercise I was trying to convey as much emotion as I possibly could. For some reason my Old Treno piece ended up scoring higher then my newer one.
And according to that I was thinking: "WHAT THE !@#$, MAN?" Then maybe it hit me. Why pretend to be all professional... people seemed to like my older rather original version than my newer unoriginal version. Perhaps being half-nude and acting like a retard earned me some points, but still that should not be the full curved point! I don't know, tell me what you guys think of it; It's not perfect because I just "winged it."
I developed/created an artistic emotional scene based on each of the 5 sections of the arrangement (in terms of developing my "touch"):
Part I (Intro): Prelude (Soft, Quiet, Mellow)
Part II (A): Sky and Flying Birds [Doves] (A soft precise touch, Wishfully, Rather simple/practical)
Part III (B): Stream/Water (Flowing, Slurred, More complex)
Part IV (C): A Question? (Capricious, Foreshadowing, A different path)
Part VS. (C): The Conjoinment (Triumphant, Climax, Passion)
Part VI (E): Starry Sky/Shooting Star (Domesticated, Interchangeable, Relief)
Part VII (F/Conclusion): Heaven/Nirvana
(Closure, Light, A Breath of Beauty)
"MOL" is definitely my most "Favorited Piano Piece of All Time," and in relating this piece to the FF IX Game... is emotionally outstanding.
Out of everything in my entire life... this is the only musical piano piece that actually "could" make me cry.
