I don't quite get what you are trying to say. Martial arts is a blanket term which could be described as disciplined training in pursuit of imporved reflexes and body conditioning. gymnastics can be a part of this.
I find it rather sad that a lot of people equate martial arts with gymnastics or performances. These modern "Shaolin" schools should clearly differentiate that this is show. Holding a spear for example, on your throat doesn't demonstrate martial skill either, sorry.
Its martial arts. this paticular section has some movements that overlap with gymnastics.. I'd say there isn't much of a difference between the two. Gymnastics or Wushu are very much a part of shaolin kungfu.
