More from the 2010 "Defenders of Freedom" Airshow at Offutt AFB.
The E-4B evolved from the E-4A, which had been in service since late 1974. The first B model was delivered to the Air Force in January 1980, and by 1985 all aircraft were converted to B models. All E-4B are assigned to the 55th Wing, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.
This majestic bird is often confused with Air Force 1.

no wonder america is in financial crap, they have birds like this flying around in the sky. Whats the price tag on one or four of these Mr Obama.. sell them off and get realistic, if they world turns to crap we all go down with the ship. God americans piss me off sometimes

I also had the honor of flying aboard the E-4B, from 2000 to 2010. It's a wonderful aircraft and can be a fun mission at times.

Thank you for posting this. I had the honor and pleasure of crewing on the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center (Advanced Airborne Command Post) for several years. The E-4 is an amazing and beautiful machine. Only four of them exist.
