Madison Scouts' first ever appearance in Bristol, I'm absolutely thrilled that they marched the 4th of July Parade today after last night's competition at the high school. Scouts got second place during the competition, but we all know they were Bristol's favorite this year. This is them approaching the start of the parade route. This parade is the longest ongoing 4th of July celebration in the country; 226 years running as of today with a crowd of nearly a quarter million along the route. Madison Scouts, you are welcome back to Bristol any year you'd like =]

  • I grew up on Hope Street in Bristol . My grandparents lived on Wood Street . I havent been to the parade in probably 10 years . Seeing this video almost brings a tear to my eye ...thanks for posting . Oh ...and the Scouts drumline sounds real good .

  • @sweetfly66 You're welcome! Yeah we're from maybe a mile north of the parade route, just off Hope Street as well, so coming to this parade is a routine MUST for us living so close to it. I can't wait for next year! And yes, the Scouts sound fantastic this year - as of me posting this comment they're currently in 5th place... and rising! This is the probably the best the Scouts have been in the last decade =]

  • @NateGomes ... I also used to love going to the competition on the 3rd at the High School . Again , havent been to that in probably a decade ..... YYYYYYYYYYYYYOU !

  • @sweetfly66 Hahahaa I went this year and the Bristol intro still lives on. "Madison Scouts, from Madison Wisconsin.... YYYYYYYOU, man the field in competition."

  • @NateGomes ... Is that same guy still the master of ceremonies ....man , he is such a character .. PERFECT for a Rhode Island institution like the 4th in Bristol

  • @sweetfly66 If you're talking about Paul Cain, yes, he still announces for the show, haha he's perfect for it!
