You are over complicating the friend thing. Co-workers are a great source for friends. You and your co-workers will eventually know who jells well with you. Just be pleasant to everyone and just let the cards fall were they may. You really can't have too many friends.
What are those letters on your mirror? I like the drink holder thingy.

The one person who disliked is a co-worker =/

The Venn Diagram is hilarious, over-complicated, and dorky. But it's awesome and it makes great sense!

This video has been up for 2 days and has 3 pages of comments. I just got the email that a new video has been posted, so I just watched it. But at least I got the email this time. That YouTube service has been down, at least for me.
Anyway, I agree about keeping work and personal life separate. My co-workers are friendly, but they are not true "friends".

Wouldn't a network diagram or entity relationship diagram work better than a venn diagram in this case? The ERD would still allow you to do SQL queries on intersections. A network would probably make it easier to count the degrees of separation.
A straight up 2 column table in a SQL database would allow you to do pretty much any ad hoc query.

The Venn essentially creates the relationships between people. I admit, should the network of people grow larger the Venn circles may grow into odd shapes that are hard to follow, but for small groups I think the simplicity of it makes it easier to read and understand.

Sir, put a piece of tape over your microphone. Do it now while you're thinking about it.
