A wonderful song from the movie "FAME". This song was sung by Irene Cara.

Lyrics:

Out Here On My Own

Sometimes I wonder where I've been
Who I am, do I fit in.
Make believin' is hard alone
Out here on my own
We're always proving who we are
Always reaching for that rising star
To guide me far, and shine me home
Out here on my own

When I'm down and feelin' blue,
I close my eyes so I can be with you.
Baby be strong for me, baby belong to me
Help me through, help me need you

Until the morning sun appears
Making light of all my fears,
I dry the tears I've never shown
Out here on my own

But when I'm down and feelin' blue
I close my eyes so I can be with you
Oh baby be strong for me, baby belong to me
Help me through, help me need you.

Sometimes I wonder where I've been,
Who I am, do I fit in.
I may not win, but I can't be thrown,
Out here on my own.
Out here on my own.

  • Can you do the karaoke of this song in the style of naturi naughton please? ^_^

  • hi i want sing this song but i am not good and keeping in time wit music could u tell me when would i come in, to start the song

  • This is a really good version, but I personally think the piano's higher keys have a really bright tamber, which I prefer a darker tamber in general. Plus because of that, it also sort of seems like whoever was playing the piano part was 'slamming' the keys, even in the softer parts of the song where everything should be taken more gently.

  • Not the sheet music so you can play the accompaniment for yourself like how Irene Cara does in the movie. Everything seems so much more impressive when you play and sing simultaneously.

  • This accompaniment is much better than the sheet music i have. Where did you get this one from? it would be an amaing help as it sounds much better when i sing to this version. Thankss, x

  • Amazing :) I recorded my own version, please check out mine :D

  • thank you! so much help!!

  • Does anyone know what key this is in? I need the sheet music for it and I'm about to buy it but I can't remember which key it's in!

    I think it's in G major?

    Anybody know?

    Thanks! x

  • The version in the songbook is with the melody and you have to sing like it´s written. This version is without the melody and I think that´s better ;)
