My whole comment didn't post, but in summary the rest said that there are many law changes in high school cheer stunts and that doesn't make it bad now, it makes it safer and that if your opinion is cheerleading has gone bad then I urge you too look up the amazing teams of today's time, like Greenup still, UK still, and extreme elite who won worlds in 2010.

Thank you for your comments. I am glad that you like both the old and new cheerleading. I have been in the acrobatic/gymnastics industry for 40 years. I have worked in all fields and watched the cheer industry throughout that time. Rules were changed because of the incompetence of cheer leaders who were only interested in money, i.e., not being sued for their negligence. Risk is not a detriment if properly trained for, which they didn't. So rules changed.

This was cheerleading at it's best from 1983!!! A century ago by cheerleading standards, but very Elite for the Era!!! I love seeing these videos, and whoever you are ADofTexas, you are so Great for posting them!!! I wish there were more of them! I used to own all of these, but lost all videos when i moved out of my home state of Ohio, thanks for sharing!!!

This is amazing and Greenup County is one of my favorite teams, but cheerleading hasn't declined, it's still improving. Yes it's changes but everything changes. That does not mean all changes are good, but as a modern cheerleader (from 2001-2011) I've seen so many amazing accomplishments in cheerleading. As awesome as this routine is (with the backflip dismounts) it is also extremely dangerous and potentially deadly. That is why laws have changed, because there have been deaths from stunts. Now

@loveAScheer Greenup County, I believe was in innovator of many of the elements in their routine: Stunting, Tumbling for sure! Not many teams from about 1980-1985 had team standing back tucks, ROBHS Back Tucks, that was Unheard of from the era!! They have dominated National Competition from the 80's,90's,00's, and the 10's..Who could say that? Not many, and certainly not a little town in KY...I respect everythingthat they have done in the sport of Cheerleading! I have been involved for 25 years!
