Military Mum on Nature of "Big Missile" Rising Out of Pacific - a Possible Show of U.S. Military Might

(CBS) A mysterious missile launch off the southern California coast was caught by CBS affiliate KCBS's cameras Monday night, and officials are staying tight-lipped over the nature of the projectile.

CBS station KFMB put in calls to the Navy and Air Force Monday night about the striking launch off the coast of Los Angeles, which was easily visible from the coast, but the military has said nothing about the launch.

KFMB showed video of the apparent missile to former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Robert Ellsworth, who is also a former Deputy Secretary of Defense, to get his thoughts.

Its obviously the Navy just testing some new rocket or something that they do not want to tell everyone else about. I mean I don't see an international crisis or World War III going on right now.

When's the last time you've seen a missile land in front of a heavily populated area? In fact, the U.S. Navy claimed responsibility for the missile as a test. And really? Nobody claimed it as far as I know. Where did it go? Did anyone see it land? Or did it mysteriously disappear just as easily as it mysteriously appeared?

Agreed, a missile couldn't do that type of detestation. But attach a nuke to it, and slap it on top of a major fault, and wahla, you have another mysterious "natural disaster" another troll

To @kj6ko go to israel5535 and click on the stars found. This person took pics of this awesome vision yet it wasn't on the main news. Some of the pics taken were in the Sun News of the Silver City district though. And two others saw this. Call up the Sun News to investigate. I remember the pics placed on a small corner of the front page that I believe read "solare flare."
