Btw about the soundtrack in your video, me like, me like alot! So please pretty please... what's the name of the soundtrack?

I agree that it could be trouble-seeking or desperate-defense-of-ideology. There are some elements of recent events that do suggest trolls.
I agree that automatic scanning does not detect permission that's been granted. It also seems to initially act pro-actively (preventing upload), though WMG detection stripped soundtracks (a smart political move by YT, imo).
I was merely suggesting that a quick pre-scan could determine whether the DMCA might, or might not, have validity.

Perhaps some are trolls, but for people with an "anything goes" mentality it's just another way of silencing dissent.
YT have the technology to scan for copyright audio. There's some kind of binary signature in the recording. But they get this wrong as well because they don't know if the uploader has permissionor not - which got James Randi suspended even though the copyright owner didn't mind.

I agree on why YT makes itself a slave to trolls. However, since a DMCA would not be upheld if it contains no commercial material, YT would be safe to scan the video and ignore malicious filings. This would take very little time because staff can presumably scan through a video in the same way that we can scan --- quickly and continuously --- on our editing software.
Trolls are inadequate creatures without ideological commitments. We'd all *love* to see the counter-suit enforced.

Youtube are required to take immdediate action because the DCMA law was intended to prevent eg pirated first run movies, music etc being distributed,
In theory the penalties for filing false DMCAs are serious becuse it is under penalty of perjury - a felony carrying up to five years inrisonment.
The complaint has the full weight and force of the law of the land behind it. So a false one is a serious matter..
All it would take is for this to be enforced.
Some detective work from part, I finally managed to find out the soundtrack of your video. Trouble is a freind by Lenka, now i got it on my head, oh well!

Sorry. I haven't signed on for weeks, I would have told you eventually. Good detective work -- though the lyrics are pretty much a give-away ;)

Jeez. I forgot how bit Fennec's ears were in relation to their head. O_o
DMCA's have become a nuisance more than anything serious on YT now. If it can be weaponized, then it's not being implimented correctly. Less automation of the system deals with the problem of false DMCAs. A staffer should have to suspend an account instead, to decrease the likelihood of it being used unethically.

Yes, in a stiff breeze they transform into flying foxes ;)
Presumably the online DMCA-filing form hooks up to automated software.
The whole point of the video (aside from cute animal pics) is that YT's policies are not cost effective in this instance.
Cut off the trolls' malicious route to automated power, and YT would save themselves and decent tubers a lot of trouble.
I'd love to see a special no-internet jail for trolls. I hear that Baffin island is lovely at any time of year.
