Making some synth sounds with the pedals. No, this isn't the only sound they can make. I play ambient, very user-controlled effect sounds, so there would be NO benefit from an effects processor, which still to this day none have proven to be "better" than using individual stomps. For those of you SRV wannabes who strive for tone and guitar leads, this video isn't for you. Scroll through some of my other videos to hear sounds from other pedals.

To comment on my playing would be a stupid move on your part, as I'm not really "playing" anything, only noodling around showing higher and lower octaves achieved with this synth-ish sound.

This is my old pedalboard setup. I don't run it anymore.

It is around 8,000 dollars worth of effects (brand new). The pedals used in the video are the boss dd-6, line 6 verbzilla, line 6 echo park, digitech whammy, foxrox octron and the ernie ball volume pedal.

This is my current set up. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4151/4994083861_5821c01c9c_z.jpg

  • you do have some nice pedals but, have you ever thought about rack gear like THE ELEVEN RACK or AXE-FX or EVENTIDE GTR-4000. less stuff to carry and some of them sound just like your pedals.

  • @afterthefox7 I did think about the AXE Fx before, but decided against it because I like manipulating a lot of effects live, and I do a lot of looping. I figured it I was going to still be using stompboxes, I needed an absolute one or the other, so I stay with stompboxes. The new AXE midi controller does look excellent.

  • what, no Nova Delay?

  • @johnstangg I've had a nova delay...and saw no need to keep it around.

  • you don't use these at any gigs, right? too mugh stuff to carry and no room on stage, right?

  • @afterthefox7 I used to gig with these until downsizing.

  • @mynameizbrian I think they meant "Why use a guitar to emulate another instrument?".

  • @TheIbanezGrx20 Did you just tell someone how to play an instrument? Kindly fuck off.

  • I think my soul was just reborn

  • Man, playing this live, you must have needed to take a bus around stage. LOL!

  • "Heaven is a place on earth" :)

  • @TheRocKalinWorld Line 6 DL4

  • @gorpusasasa Ease of use I suppose. For example: You could say I am cheating if I am using a guitar to simulate a keyboard synth sound. I can't play keyboard but I can play guitar. So doing such a thing would help me achieve keyboard synth sounds that I want without having to spend hours learning to play keyboard. It's a great alternative for composers that have a spark of inspiration that needs to be recorded quickly.
